Fantastic kit. Good enough for a 59 years old MWD handler to complete the Danish foot march alongside his son and trusty service dog. Pack rode well and I wish I had something like this when I was younger and on active duty.

The size of the 2000 works well as a streamlined ruck for events such as Green Beret Fitness where long distances with weight is in order. The external frame does well to transfer the weight to the hips. Adjustments stay in place even with weighted ruck shuffles. Very good feature set and value for the price.

Tackled two 4000 footers in Maine in a day with no issues. Freefall 2000 is hands down one of the best packs I own and will be my go to pack for awhile.

I’ve had the free fall for about a month now and I feel like at it’s more spacious than it seems I’m able to pack in a 2-4 day trip in this with no issue. I’ve also taken it to the range and packed it heavy it carry’s the weight extremely well. I’m satisfied with this bag.

Currently went from a 65L pack to the Freefall for a 6 day backpacking trip and I couldn’t be happier. I would highly recommend this pack for anyone like myself that wants to get as close to “ultralight” as possible while still wanting a durable pack with an aluminum frame.

The pack is well designed and well thought out. The side pockets on the waist strap are very handy and even when fully loaded you could hardly notice that they were there. I’m able to pack everything I need to sustain in the woods for a long period of time with it only weighing in at 30lbs. But if I were to make any changes I would add a little molle webbing either at the top or bottom of the pack. This is not a necessity I just like to pack a sleeping pad and woobie in a compression sack on the outside of the pack but I still figured out a way to get er done. It’s a massive upgrade from my previous hunting day pack. It has more storage capacity for the extra, dry layer without crushing everything.

Great bag, very useful setup for organizing everything you need.

I bought 2 of these, one for me and one for my wife, for a trip to Italy. They worked great and the fact that they zip open like a duffle bag was a game changer. So nice to not have to dig through everything to get to the middle of the pack. They also had a ton of cool features like the elastic pockets of different sizes inside the pack down the sides of the inside of the pack. Worked flawlessly in checked luggage on planes, jammed into bins on trains, in the trunk of rental cars and taxis and even running blocks in the pouring rain.

Does what it says on the tin

Purchased this pack for my trip to Asia. It fit well in the overhead bin on my flight to Japan and then to Bangkok. Pack is not wide and very easy to navigate through crowds without snagging people. It holds enough clothes for a week while island hopping in the Philippines. The bottom compartment holds my tropical sleeping bag/blanket and hammock. Only negative is the absence of molle straps to hold extra pouches or strap footwear. Will purchase this pack again.

I’ve put about 120 rucking miles on this pack with 30-70 pounds of load. Every indication so far is that the construction and materials are worth the cost.

Once you get it set up properly—tightening everything the F down and then tightening more—your hips carry all the weight, and nothing bounces.

The sleep system pocket at the bottom will fit a set-up battle belt if you fold the belt really aggressively.

The side pockets fit a USGI canteen perfectly. The belt pockets are huge—I can fold my Mechanix MPact gloves in half and cram them in there with room for a headlamp. You could put a compact IFAK in the other one.

My main complaint is that the pouch on top flops around way too much when moving with purpose. Cramming a poncho or other soft, bulky item in there helps, though.

I’m 5’11”, 190 pounds, 44” chest, and getting the straps snug enough to sprint with means tightening them down as far as they will go. I could see my small-framed kings and queens finding they just physically can’t get an optimal shoulder fit.

The pack is a great addition to my gear.
I recently used it on a Caribou hunt, not only did the hunt perform great in the field, lots of pockets, great weight distribution, and resistant to stains, weather, etc, it doubled as my carryon for Alaska Airlines.
The design and function are just what I was looking for.

Good bag. Use it for rucking

I moved to the desert and my older pack just doesn't have enough airflow. I researched and tried dozens of packs before settling on the Freefall. It fits me perfectly, sits close to my back, fits my gear for my day hikes, and breathes well. I suppose something with a mesh trampoline back would breathe better but those brands can't support the weight of actual gear like this. I'll take comfort, load capacity, and support over ultralight any day.

The 22.5" frame is just the right height for my 18" torso; I get a good 45 degree angle with the load lifters. The lumbar pad sits nicely in the small of my back. I don't need to overtighten the belt to have it stay in place. My wide-brim hat doesn't knock the frame either.

Visually, it disappears on my back. My wife noticed the Dry Earth color just vanishes on me, which is really cool.

I think a 2500 cu in version would work well for lots of us, too. I wouldn't mind more loops for gatekeepers, and loops inside to hang my gear.

Able to do anything do to its style and size

Great pack. Sturdy enough to handle whatever outdoor adventure I carry it on. Seriously considering the 2000 version of the Freefall for my wife.

Love the pack. Used it first time for a 12 mile hike up in Yosemite. Carried my groups supplies and water and all the adjustability made it light work. It was also 90 degrees and the mesh and breathing channels kept me comfortable and cool as possible. Love it.

I bought this primarily to ruck with. Liked the idea of an aluminum frame and was sold on the well thought out design. The pack has lived up to my expectations and more. Very comfortable! Easy to adjust and plenty of room for my applications. I am generally rucking with 40-45# of sand and this fits perfectly alongside a 2L water bladder. With some additional foam blocks in the bottom to keep the weight high on the back, the pack cinches tight and keeps load very stable. Great looking as well. Pack will also be great for day or overnight hikes. I wasn't sure about the "gray" color from the online image but it was a great choice.

Freefall is perfect for hauling your gear to or during a match.

The Freefall arrived on time for my trip. The pack is well made and the frame gives extra support to the hips. Lots of extra room for a one day hike or camp over.

I am currently traveling around Europe and have found the Freefall bag to be perfect. The frame design and hip belt keeps the weight distributed evenly and I have never once felt uncomfortable or had painful pressure points. I am able to pack 10 days worth of clothes in it and it easily fits in the overhead storage of airlines and trains. The zipper system, with the 4 side buckles, secure the bag and keeps pickpockets out. The pockets on the hip belt work well to keep items easily accessible. I do use a carabiner to secure the zippers at the top of the bag but wish that there was a semi locking system on the hip belt zippers to secure them a little better so I could keep my passport, money or personal items and feel comfortable against pickpockets. This is my 4th Eberlestock bag I have zero complaints about my purchase. My wife scoffed at me for buying it but now wants one too. I love being right.

The quality is top notch. Ideal bag for most cases.
