Description
Alturas is a strong, lightweight jacket built to withstand the most demanding environments. It provides efficient thermal regulation across different body zones, using our proprietary synthetic insulation to retain heat and reduce bulk. It’s warm enough to run as a light outer layer, and compact enough to operate comfortably under a rain shell.
Packable by design, the Alturas stows neatly into its own hood, keeping the jacket compact and portable. An adjustable hood and hem seal out the cold, while a neck gaiter lines the collar, keeping your body warm and protected from unwanted drafts.
On the body of the Alturas, a chest pocket provides secure storage for small items, like your phone, wallet, and other essentials. Stretch fleece gussets running down the sides of the jacket enhance mobility, allowing your body to move freely and breathe easily. A subtle layer of fleece lines the hand pockets, keeping your hands warm while glassing or on the move. Inside the pockets, you can adjust the jacket fit with a shock cord with a SIMPLX® Cord Lock.
Reinforced elbows and lightweight nylon ripstop on the body deliver a level of dependability necessary for extended use day after day. Cuff gussets made of stretch nylon increase functionality while sealing your wrists from the harsh elements.
PFAS-free DWR protection enhances the jacket's reliability, keeping you shielded from wet weather during your range session, hikes, or other outdoor adventures.

So far I’m happy with the jacket the fabric and the fit are great I haven’t needed a jacket yet but I have high expectations for this one
This jacket fits all my needs for a Western Colorado outdoorsman, it packs extra light for my archery pack, those cold mornings getting to the elk grounds, keeps me warm in the mornings brewing up my coffee before my bass fishing excursions, super lightweight but effective, super durable signature ripstop nylon that we all love! cant say enough about this jacket, Eberlestock over everything! Love you guys!
Qaulity in all aspects!
Just for reference: Dress shirt, neck 15.5, sleeves 32/33, chest 42”, waist 32”; I am not tall, 5’8”, 180; Large Alturas fits great in the sleeves, drops right at the waist with just the correct amount of coverage on the back, waist is great without even having to tighten it and just a little snug across the chest. Definitely could fit a light base layer under it. Medium made me look like Tommy Boy. Excited to put it to work.
Coat is warm and appropriately sized 6' 196 lbs. Very minor concern if your wearing it as an outer layer underbrush seems to be an issue and will create durability issues. Understanding it is not designed for this task 5 stars is appropriate. Would recommend.
I loved this jacket. It’s very light and pack able yet very warm. It’s great for cool days and also cold days. Great fit. This has become my new go to jacket. Loved it so much I’m buying a second one. Highly recommend this for your daily wear work/tactical/casual/outdoors.
If you have ever been an Arcteryx fan, this jacket comes with all the benefits, none of the drawbacks, and is definitely a better product.
Biggest benefits: no-slip zipper, in pocket cinching for the waist, fleece collar, no LE/MIL only buying like the LEAF.
I LOVE THIS JACKET.
One thing that happened to me: cinch pull came off (I was able to reattach it - customer service reach back out immediately). zipper pulls came off of pockets (if you re-thread it thru both holes on the metal zipper pull, then loop it over itself, it will be fixed).
This is a great jacket! Really good warmth to weight, stretch/breathable side panels, nice details, and a well-fitting hood. I've owned a couple jackets that are similar but geared towards climbing/skiing and the quality on this one holds up to the top outdoor apparel brands. The DWR coating beaded up nicely in a little rain shower. These coatings never seem to last that long and backpack shoulder straps seem to rub them off over time, but it's nice while it lasts. The Alturas will end up seeing a lot of use in backpack archery hunts, scouting missions, cold weather range days and even just around town.
I'm 6', 175lbs, athletic build and I'm glad I sized up. I'm a medium in a lot of stuff, but the large fits great. The sleeves are a good length, even at full draw. My only gripe is that the front hem of the jacket is cut a little short for my liking. The back has a little drop hem, which is great, but I'm a little worried the front may come untucked from a backpack waist belt strap. Time will tell but it won't stop me from packing this piece.
I can pair this up with a hoody for colder days. I wouldn't recommend wearing this in anything under 10 degrees though because its not meant for that type of weather, in my opinion.
Sizing- I'm 5"10, 210lbs athletic/muscular build. Usually most Large sized jackets fit me because they come with a little wiggle room but this one I had to return to get an XL. If you're inbetween sizes, definitely size up. Remember this is a jacket and its not meant to fit you like a compression gym shirt.
Its a really nice jacket that you can wear comfortably.
Really comfy and warm and looks cool. Big fan
Customers praised this lightweight, packable insulated hooded jacket for its excellent warmth-to-weight ratio and versatility. Many said it's "very warm" despite being surprisingly light. The fit runs slightly snug, with shoppers recommending sizing up for layering. Popular for hunting, outdoor activities, and daily wear in cold weather.
- It's like wearing a microwave. I couldn't be more pleased with this jacket.
- Super lightweight but effective, super durable signature ripstop nylon that we all love!

I’ve used the Alturas quite a bit the last month and have put it through range sessions, late season hunting, and out in sub 20F snow/sleet storms and have been warm and comfy. The Alturas continues to hold up and dries pretty quickly if you end up sweating too much during exertion or caught in the snow. I was almost over heating wearing this underneath a softshell jacket when it was about 18F and very windy with sleet/snow mix while playing around with my GSD since he loves this kind of weather. I haven’t even washed this jacket once yet either and it doesn’t smell bad at all. I’ve been very impressed with the Alturas and just got a second one in a different color. I highly recommend the Alturas for any weather conditions under 60F and for any activity. Great job Eberlestock, this is pretty much the perfect jacket.

Really comfy and warm and looks cool. Big fan
I love this jacket it is very warm and comfortable. I only gave four stars because it is really low in the back and super short in the front and if I went a size up it would be too long in the back.
Lightwieight. Fit was great.
Im 5’11” 158pounds and got the medium. Im pretty impressed with the weight to warmth ratio of this jacket. A base layer only under it kept me warm when out walking with my dog in 20 degree weather with wind. Gives me confidence in it for when i go backcountry backpacking. Definitely making it into the gear list.
Would love to see a Tall size.
Jacket is very comfortable and the insulation provides good warmth. Would highly recommend this jacket to anyone.
Exactly what i needed for an upcoming hunt and fit perfectly and as described! Love it!
I’m 6’2 205 lbs, XL fits perfect. Excellent quality and very warm. Will be perfect for early season PRS matches in the northeast.
5’10” 190lb male (Fit). Great jacket so far. As far as size if you teeter totter on a smaller and larger size, order 1 size up. Have used casually and at the range during winter night SWAT trainings. I found it to be very warm and so far durable. Intend to use it next fall during hunting season too.
This jacket is awesome, the materials feel great and it is extremely warm. The hood looks a little goofy but fits great around your head and keeps you warm. It was about 30 degrees outside at work and windy and this with a long sleeve underneath was almost making me sweat. I am about 6’4” and 295lbs so I obviously got the XXL. The fit is a little more snug than I’d like but I could probably drop a couple hundred pounds too. Highly recommend this jacket, I will probably be purchasing another in a different color, and losing some weight.
In Montana I've been wearing it as a standalone jacket when it has been above 45 degrees and it is very warm and comfortable. Currently it's been in the 20's so I'm wearing a fleece jacket under it and it is very warm, even when riding my 4 wheeler the outer shell blocks the wind.
When i pulled it out of the packaging, i was super skeptical that it would be a warm jacket due to the lack of weight. I couldn't have been more wrong. It's like wearing a microwave. I couldn't be more pleased with this jacket.
With a merino wool base layer underneath I’m comfortable down into the low 20’s. Really like the stretch side panels for movement and the shock cord hem for keeping the warmth in and by belt unobstructed during range sessions. Super lightweight. Im hoping it holds up overtime, but im very happy with it so far. Probably gonna buy another one in grey color next.
New favorite jacket. Very warm despite its weight and how thin it appears. Kinda has that woobie jacket feel to it. Definitely is not roomy or baggy fitting like the pictures show. Its actually a bit tight on me and I wont be able to layer under it except for a shirt or long sleeve. Wont be as tight after the holidays I guess though lol. I ordered one in ranger green and one in dry earth. They both fit exactly the same. Really like the ranger green. Wish it were a bit more breathable as well since my arms get sweaty sometimes when being active and warm. Wore a soft shell over this outside when it was 35F and windy and I was very toasty. Definitely the best of this kind of jacket compared to other brands and price range as long as it is as tough as it claims to be durability wise, which I will be testing further. I recommend this jacket if you are going to wear it and use it how it was designed for, and not just for shopping etc… as you can get more affordable jackets for that.
