Fade Sling XL is designed to carry everyday essentials securely across your body and offer a roomier alternative to the Fade Sling. Fully ambidextrous zipper access and three strap attachment points allow the pack to adapt to a wide range of carry configurations, and it's sized to accommodate large laptops, full-size pistols, and PDWs.
The main strap features a cam buckle, locking the strap in place as you move throughout the day and keeping deployment of your gear consistent and reliable. On the strap, there is a mesh pocket for quick access to small items like pens or a pocket knife. At the top of the sling, there is a hidden pass-through for hydration tubes or communications equipment.
The Sling XL has 4 separate pockets to store your gear. On the front of the pack, there is an ambidextrous zippered pocket that is loop-lined so you can add accessories like our FADE Blocker Pouch, MOLLE Adapters, or Fade Admin Pouch. The dual-zipped pocket allows you to customize the pack to fit your specific needs for any type of situation, whether it requires rapid access to medical gear, tools, or other essential items. On top of the pack, there is a zippered pocket that is large enough to fit a Nalgene and all your daily essentials. Inside, the Sling XL has a translucent zipper pocket for storing more sensitive items like keys or your wallet. This pocket allows you to see through the fabric, making identification easier when you need to grab and go.
The main compartment is ambidextrous and opens in a clamshell configuration, giving you full access to your gear. Inside, a dedicated padded laptop sleeve accommodates devices up to 10” wide and 15” tall. The interior walls are loop-lined, making the pack compatible with the attachment of any of our Fade accessory pouches. The final compartment, closest to the chest, is the rear CCW compartment. It can be accessed quickly from any position with a T-Pull zipper, which makes indexing rapid and reliable. The rear pocket is loop-lined, features an armor insert sleeve, and can carry a full-size sidearm.

Customers praised this versatile sling bag for its excellent capacity and quality construction. Many noted it "holds a lot of gear" and fits laptops (14-15" MacBook). I started with the Fade Flex, then to the Fade sling and now, the best EDC bag for my needs...the Fade XL. I really like the overall, exterior dimensions of the Fade (I'm on the short side at 5'7") but internally, it was just a bit too cramped. So, I ordered the XL and over the past few months it has become my favorite EDC and main go to pack! Starting with the main compartment, it easily holds my med/trauma kit w/tourniquet, my tech pouch and my EDC/tools pouch. AND...the laptop sleeve holds my Flux Raider X Legion WITH (2) 21-rd. mags inserted WITH my Silencerco Spectre 9 suppressor mounted on the barrel!!! Now, that is amazing in such a compact bag...the photos on your website are accurate!! If I need my laptop or tablet, I just put them in the CCW compartment. As to the front, dual-access pocket, on the bottom of have a Vertx (sorry about that, lol!) small hook/loop admin pouch for my earbuds and power banks. Velcro'd above the admin pouch is my small, sheathed fixed blade for easy/quick access when needed. this is room for a spare mag in here too, if you really needed it! To "top" it off, the top accessory compartment holds my dude wipes & eyeglass wipes/cloth in the translucent zippered pocket. The main top compartment easily holds keys, hard sunglasses case, mints and bandana! The ONLY nits to pick and the only reason it's not a perfect 5 is because it lacks a side grab handle, which I really like to have on a sling bag...and the adjustable nylon shouldder strap is too long...gonna have to cut that down! Now, in Eberlestock's defense (not that you need defending!) it would be hard to put a durable side grab handle on this particular type of bag and material, and it would probably screw up the overall, sleek look of the bag. Overall, 4.9 (but hey, rounding gets us to 5!). Quality - 5; Capacity (for me) - 5; Materials - 5; Functionality - 5! Great job with the Fade XL, Eberlestock! Thank you!
I use the Sling XL as my office bag, and it has been amazing. It just right size for carrying my laptop, and everyday supplies around campus. No longer do I need to carry a bulky backpack.
Size:
The laptop sleeve is the perfect fit for my 15" MacBook.
The top front pocket is great for my phone, glasses, keys, and whatever small items you need quick access to. It will hold a 32oz Nalgene bottle, but you will not be able to fit much more than that.
The top front pocket and the main compartment share the same space, meaning whatever you put in the top pocket will be taken away from the main compartment. With a 32oz bottle in the top pocket, and a 15" laptop in the sleeve, you can still fit three 32oz Nalgene bottles in the bottom of the main compartment.
The rear compartment is the total length and width of the bag, but only about a 1-1/2 deep. Big enough for a conceal carry pistol and accessories, or in my case, a couple of the large Fade admin pouches.
Strap:
Is comfy; well padded, wide enough to distribute the load, but too wide (feels better than the 5.11 LVC8).
The three attachment points makes it very versatile. You sling it over either shoulder, or if your like me, carry it like a backpack on one shoulder. Unlike most slings you can make it comfortable to wear it how you want on either shoulder.
The large carry strap on the top of the bag, makes it easy grab and go.
Conceal Carry:
I cannot carry at work, so I have limited actual usage in the category. I can say the the front "consealed" pocket can hold a full size pistol with optics, however, depending on how full the main compartment is, it may not be practical. If the main compartment is fully packed it makes it difficult to reach in and grab a pistol (especially if the contents are rigid. Also, if the main compartment is full the firearm may start to print on the front of the bag.
The back compartment, on the other hand is perfect for conceal carry. Even fully pack, retrieving a firearm is easy. One of the zippers has "T" pull which makes it easier to open (I would suggest purchasing an additional "T" pull handle for the other zipper).
Overall, I am very happy with bag. The size makes it the perfect office bag for me. It's easy grab and sling on my shoulder. The padding is just right, so I don't even notice the weight. The discreet branding let's it blend in any scenario.

I really dont like the placement of the carry handle. When hung the main compartment is behind the handle, that enough is reason it will sit in my closet. Also not big enough for my work bag.
Lightest large sling I own. The modular capabilities allow complete customization but you will need to purchase other items.
Perfect size for EDC carry, or folded rifle with enough storage space for misc items
I have the std sling and now the XL both are great bags I’m happy with the extra capacity that the XL has I’m putting both to good use
Started with the original Fade Sling and it served me well, but the XL just changed the whole experience. Tons of room, same smart layout, and zero adjustment period. It’s exactly what I needed to keep pushing my training. Appreciate y’all for building gear that actually evolves with the people using it.

The fade sling is just the perfect size for carrying pistol and magazines or an SBR and magazines. There's plenty of room for other items without being bulky and it's comfortable to wear.

I’m still waiting for this to actually be delivered- I love the original Fade Sling and was looking forward to the larger version that would hold my laptop. Unfortunately, I was sent another original size and this one still hasn’t shown up.
It’s hard to find a sling big enough for my MacBook Pro but this one just makes it and still roomy enough for additional gear. I like the versatility of the left, center or right connectors for the shoulder strap. Sturdy construction. I’m quite satisfied.
I never thought I would ever purchase, let alone like a sling bag. This bag is versatile, makes EDC a breeze when you have to, or want to carry off body. A great setup.

I was looking for a sling back for non-firearm EDC. I primarily need it for around town and for carrying tech (laptops, power, etc.) Most bags are either too large, too tactical, or uncomfortable. The Fade Sling XL excels in the ability to carry the volume of gear I need without looking tactical. I can use it for a day out, carrying extra jackets, a water bottle, and random purchases, while still having room for a small first aid kit, notebook, and a small charger kit.
The construction is top notch, and the customer service is amazing. The retail store is there to answer questions and help you set it up to optimize the space and the carry comfort.
I've shopped bags from GORUCK, Osprey, and Mystery Ranch, and none can compare to the look, craftsmanship, and customer service of Eberlestock.

This bag so far is awesome it i have all my essentials two tablets and med med kit perfect for what i need. I do wish there was a way to add a waterbottle holder but i do like the full open feature so i use a carabiner on the top strap
