Perfect for a long gun or 2 and multiple pistols, mags, ammo, holsters. Or camera and associated gear depending on your configuration needs. Very versatile.

It does great protecting my pews so it does what it’s supposed to do.

The Foam feels really nice and I’m confident it will protect my rifles during transport. Unfortunately, the foam I received was torn, but I emailed customer support and they were quick to respond. Hopefully they will send a replacement price soon. I’m still giving the product a high rating even with the mishap. Fits it my Hercules bag perfectly.

Packs all my gear and more. Very durable, held up at multiple airports, airlines. Held up to my abuse tossing and dragging it around . You get what you pay for.

The foam insert works great. After using an electric knife to make cut I put on a few coats of spray plasti dip to firm up edges. Its great when going to training and staying in a hotel you're not advertising what you have by carrying a separate and obvious “tool” bag.
This bag is great. I use it for a week trip and have room left over. Wheels are stout and roll smooth. The full dimension (LxW) bottom compartment allows for a bulkier item like a coat or get the foam insert and cut out for tools. Another feature I like is the ability to lock every zipper. I just discovered the built in stowable rain/dust cover also. I could realistically pack for a month+, my wife might be able to pack for a three day weekend.

In my opinion this bag would be greatly improved if there were compression straps just for the flip portion of the bag. When you fill this thing up the top portion is pretty unwieldy when you want to access the lower hard case especially since you have to undo the compression straps. Possibly adding interior compression/rention straps would be the best idea since it would also provide some rigidity to the duffle portion. We use this bag as an all inclusive 2 person three gun shoot bag and it holds everything we needed except for the shotguns themselves.

The foam insert is very dense and excellent for designing layouts. Holds all items securely yet malleable for extraction.

I travel a lot and this Hercules Duffel bag is perfect - quality constructed material and adaptable organization is right on the money. I’m glad I bought it and have received compliments.

I added the foam to my duffle to help protect smaller firearms and it’s working great! I can’t wait to organize it with items for an upcoming mountain hunting trip and fit everything in the bag. A great setup that will last me forever!

Easy to shape and snug

The foam insert is open cell foam. Personal experience with open cell foam is it collects moisture. If you don’t pay close attention to it, you can end up with a weapon with surface rust.
Closed cell foam is a lot better option, more rigid and holds the weapon better. Again, this is my own personal experience with open cell foam in areas where you have extreme temperature changes.
Open cell foam is really soft and pliable. If the bag or case takes a hard hit the foam will allow the weapon to move around, you can look at that as a good thing or bad thing. If you have multiple pieces of equipment cut out in the foam, the equipment can actually make contact with each other when a hard impact strikes the bag or equipment or worse, if you fly, they bag handlers handling the bag are not careful. I have personal seen bags thrown several feet onto the bag cart when offloading the aircraft. I was traveling with a rifle and watched a baggage handler throw my case over 3 feet onto the cart then walk over and stand on my case to put additional bags onto the cart. Without the closed cell foam, my rifle and additional equipment might have been damaged.

The bag is huge, so if you are wondering if it will be able to properly contain all of your range gear or kit, it will. It can hold multiple pairs of pants, jackets, my carrier, two belts and my helmet..plus my nods case, ammo case, ammo bag, 10 rifle magazine, plenty of pistols mags, as well as one to two rifles and possible multiple pistols depending on how you pack. Its great. The main thing to remember is that this bag can get very heavy depending on how you pack it. The main things I am not a fan of are, the drag handle that is used while using the roller wheels. This is a nice feature but the handle is soft, not rigid and is in my opinion too limited on length. I believe this would have been the biggest upgrade to the bag. Im not an engineer but I would imagine there is a way of redesigning the handle to have length options and a more robust design. The other downside being the velcro dividers on the interior, they dont stay put very well.

I finally got to use this bag on a trip to Seattle. It did everything I expected it to do and then some. A few things that might be picky. One person mentioned it not standing on its own. This would be nice as I have an older bag from a different manufacturer and it does stand up but this bag is built better. The pockets on the side might be more versatile if they were divided into two equal size pockets instead of three smaller ones. Or maybe three on one side and two big ones on the other side. Just a thought. I will say this trip was during a major storm event that hit California, Oregon and Washington and the bag was on the roof from Eugene to Seattle the entire way. Due to traffic it was a seven hour trip and it dumped the entire way. When I could I drove 75 mph, and with just the rain cover everything stayed dry. I couldn’t expect anything better.

Took Hercules to Africa. Allowed me to eliminate having to have a bow case as well as luggage. Rolls good and is big enough for all gear on a long trip.

I haven’t actually been able to use it for it’s intended purpose yet (hunting, deployments). However. I did use it for commercial travel from Denver to Atlanta to NYC & then back to Denver. With what I had packed it weighed in just below 50 lbs (no fire arms). The travel agents & Uber folks very much appreciated it for the ease of handling…& it looks really tacti-cool!

This thing is a beast. It easily holds your gear, clothing, supplies and everything else you need to bring. I’ve added a few additional 3M Velcro tabs so I could place some more patch’s.

I’m very pleased that I replaced my Ogio suitcase with the Hercules. My old suitcase had the pull handle break in half when I had it loaded up and began pulling it down the stairs. I don’t have to worry about this happening to the Hercules, as it’s so big there isn’t a pullout handle that can break.

The grey looks very light in the picture but in person it has a lot more of a greenish tint to it. Love the bag though. Lots of space and great organization options.

I have seen all the reviews about all the different packs for trekking into the wilderness for miles to kill a big trophy… this is not your bag. But if your idea of a hunting trip is packing a few days worth of gear for a lodge stay to duck hunt a blind, this is your bag! Thanks plenty of room for everything you need. Was able to back my shotgun, shells, clothes, and gear for a 3 day hunt all in this bag. Exactly what I was looking for!
