I purchased the Switchblade with the optional hip belt & was blown away at the comfort of this combination. I travel for work which presented a challenge of finding a pack I can use for travel, as well as for rucking for fitness. In the past I've had to pack an extra pack for fitness & have carried everything from Alice Packs, Molle II's, to GoRucks and CTacticals. This combo not only handles weight, but gives me the option to carry everyday items for work, as well as air travel with unparalleled comfort. The hip belt supports the weight, giving your shoulders a break when needed.
PROS: This pack has options for tactical look, or more gray man style. Either option exhibits a robust construction with modularity that makes carrying EDC items or weapons fully configurable. The pack is light weight and not too big for carry on travel, but big enough for those one bag weekend trips.
On the critical side, I would not use this bag to regularly carry more than 30-35 lbs. Weight plates fit okay in the hydration sleeve but will shift if not packed tightly. Additionally, using the hip belt greatly improves comfort at >35 lbs. To be honest, the shoulder straps could use some thickening. Though they ARE comfy at under 30lbs, they are thin comparing to a GoRuck causing me fatigue at higher weight. Also, I added a Grey Man Tactical Molle panel to help stiffen the back on the pack to support weight. Under 30lbs, this thing can be worn all day without the hip belt.
